Training programmes

Our team

The FIT-TO-NZEB project aims to increase the competence and skills of the building professionals in all participating countries - Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, Italy, Croatia, Ireland, Austria and Greece - through unique educational programmes and pilot training courses, which will contribute to both the quality and the scale of the deep energy building renovations. The project will produce all necessary requisites for the introduction of educational content on deep energy retrofit in the curricula at all levels of the vocational training and education system - universities, professional high schools and colleges, vocational training centers.

Training facilities

The project will use the training and communication infrastructure of its predecessor Train-to-NZEB (www.train-to-nzeb.com), which already operates 5 training centers in Eastern and Southern Europe: in Bulgaria, Romania, the Czech Republic, Turkey and Ukraine. To this, it will add the capacity of 4 universities, 1 professional college and 4 training centers in the current composition of the team.

The most significant energy saving potential throughout Europe is in the renovation of existing buildings – so, then, why don’t we try to get better value for the money we spend? Better value comes with qualified professionals able to implement quality renovation projects using the most efficient materials, components and technologies available on the market. It also means better understanding of the benefits of deep energy retrofit by both investors and occupants: the process in which optimal energy savings lead to financial, health and comfort benefits for all of us.

All prerequisites for training and education for deep energy retrofit

Fit-to-NZEB will deliver module-based training programmes with all corresponding requisites (learning targets for each qualification level under the European Qualification Framework, visualizations, theoretical and practical exercises, test schemes) for deep energy renovation in 7 European countries. They will be available for use by any interested vocational training and education provider.
The project is strongly focused on practical training: it will not only develop a set of practical exercises, but will design and produce practical training and demonstration models, which will be used in the participating training centers. In parallel, it will develop programmes for on-site training and validation of skills and knowledge of construction professionals.
